Fort Worth Museum

The Museum Trip was fun... I want to thank all those that came out to play and learn with us. The boys had a blast and were so into everything that the musuem had to offer. It was a little on the expensive side, some of us put our entrance fee in towards a year pass. Just something to think about, I think it was an extra 30 dollars to go all year for a family of 5 and the exibits change. There are pictures to come. Sorry it is so late but my camera is missing in action.

Pinewood Derby Information

MARK YOUR CALENDARS: PINEWOOD DERBY IS GOING TO BE ON A TUESDAY, MARCH 2ND AT 6:30pm. The Official Weigh in is on February 26Th at 3:30pm when we do the scouting for food. The cars will remain in our possession until race day.

Good news: Dave Wieda, our committee chair and experienced cub scout leader, has offered to host a Pinewood Derby workshop at his home on Saturday, Feb 13Th from 9:00am til noon, or until your son’s car is ready! He has saws, sanding equipment, some paint (you might want to go get the exact colors your son wants: Hobby Lobby—online coupons weekly: www.hobbylobby.com) . He has scales to weigh the car (there are some specific rules about weight) and also can advise on adding weight to your car. This is a one-stop-shop:get-your-block-of-wood-make-into-a-fabulous-Pinewood-Derby-car!"

Cabela's

It thought that Cabela's went well. The boys seemed to be very engaged and had some great questions about the fish that they saw. The team at Cabela's was amazing and actually got the boys to fish a little. We split into groups and half fished while the rest did an in-store scavenger hunt. I missed the big fish that Eli caught and the dead bird that Pete caught, thank goodness. They all had a great time and at the end we faced the store and all gave Cabela's a big thank you, all 20 plus of us. It was Great. Thank you Danielle for getting the ball rolling on this one, it was a great idea. THANK YOU CABELA'S FOR A GREAT TIME!
